First impression (crossfade):
I don't have a good feeling about this album, but I've been wrong before.
I'm excited for track 3, but other than that I don't know the songs and don't really like the sound.
First Impression (First Listen):
Unfortunately, I think I was right. I want to love all of Demetori's albums, but this just really falls flat for me.
It starts of with a long, weak song, but luckily it gets better as it goes on, with the last two songs being the best.
Ever since Todestrieb & Lebenstrieb in 2016, they have had a style vastly different from that of even Evil People...
It was fine at first, but I think it just keeps getting worse each time.
Though even Determinism&DestruKction had emotion and some really great bits, this album really just sounds almost generic, and believe me, that is the last thing I want to say about a Demetori album.
I like the unpredictable Dream Theater-esque rhythms, but not much stands out on this album, in contrast to every other one of their albums, which all had at least one song that I would remember even if I didn't like the album overall.
I just frankly don't like the direction Demetori is going..
In short: Give it a pass if you prefer older Demetori, and don't let this be your introduction to an amazing band making some (in my opinion) creative fails.
